87 Athletes Named Academic All-American!

Dixie Heights is proud to announce that 87 of its participants in interscholastic athletics for the 2015 Fall Season have been named Academic All-American by the Kentucky High School Athletic Association.

35 student-athletes received First-Team Academic All-State honors.  To achieve the honor, an athlete must maintain a grade point average of 3.75 or higher while participating in varsity high school athletics.

KCSD's Missy Hicks wins Mary Ann Mongan Literacy Award

Congratulations to Kenton County School District Literacy Consultant Missy Hicks, who was presented with the Mary Ann Mongan Literacy Award from the Kenton County Public Library.

SK teacher selected as finalist for prestigious PAEMST

Ten Kentucky public school teachers, including one from Simon Kenton, have been selected as finalists for the prestigious Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST).  

Taylor Mill student donates plant to Cincinnati Zoo

Taylor Mill Elementary student Ari Edmonds donated his Venus Flytrap plant to the Cincinnati Zoo.

Dixie's Band Wins the Midstates Band Association Class AAAA Championship!

The marching band finished the 2015 competitive season on Saturday winning the MidStates Band Association Class AAAA Championship.  This is the 2nd year in a row the band has won this title (after many years of trying) and the 2nd time felt just as good, if not better.

Dixie artwork selected for Brescia juried art exhibit

Several Dixie Heights High School students had their artwork selected for the juried art exhibit at Brescia University in Owensboro.

The Kenton County School District was award several OASIS (Outstanding Achievement in School Information Services) awards during the Kentucky School Public Relations Association conference on Nov. 5.

Dixie student wins poetry contest

Congratulations to Dixie Heights High School student Dana Schneider, who won the grand prize in the One City, One Symphony Poetry Contest.

SK and Dixie girls Cross Country teams qualify for state

Simon Kenton took first and Dixie was runner up at the AAA girls regional cross country meet held at Sherman Elementary school on Saturday, October 31.
