The Twenhofel Middle School Bands performed in Greaves Hall at Northern Kentucky University on Monday, March 6, for the Large Ensemble State Performance Assessment sponsored by the Kentucky Music Educators Association.
The TMS 6th Grade Beginning Band, 7th Grade Concert Band, and Symphonic Band all earned unanimous Distinguished-Plus and Distinguished ratings in prepared music and sight-reading from all four adjudicators.
The state performance assessment was a three-day event at NKU and included all middle school and high school bands in KMEA District 6, which includes schools from Kenton, Boone, Campbell, Bracken, Owen, Grant, Gallatin, and Pendleton counties.
Of the 46 performances, the Twenhofel Symphonic Band was chosen as one of two middle school Exemplary Performance Groups in the district. Exemplary awards are given to the best two middle school and high school performances from the entire event.
This is the second consecutive year that the Twenhofel Symphonic Band was chosen as the Exemplary Performance Group. Congratulations to all of the Twenhofel Bands!
