Congratulations to the Scott High School boys basketball team, who made a run to the Final Four in the KHSAA Sweet 16 tournament.
The Eagles defeated Harlan County in the first round and Perry County Central in the 2nd round before falling to eventual champs Bowling Green in the Final Four.
Senior Jake Ohmer scored 106 points throughout the tournament. He was named to the All-Tournament team along with sophomore Chad Ohmer.
Jake Ohmer was also awarded the KABC Larry Conley Ulitmate Teammate Award, given to a participant in the tournament whose individual play exemplifies the style of play where scoring isn't the most important aspect of the game, and is complemented by passing, rebounding and blocked shots.
In addition, Vincent Dumlao was presented with the Sweet Sixteen Academic Scholarship, given to a participant based solely on academic achievement to be used at a Kentucky college or university.
Scott made it to the Sweet 16 Tournament by defeating Campbell County in the 10th Region Championship on a buzzer beater.
Jake Ohmer hit the game winning shot to win the game for the Eagles, 78-77.
