Students in first through fourth grade attended the play Alice In Wonderland last week. Please look for activities coming home in your child’s blue folder that may discuss how costumes and props help a play come to life. These activities align with the program review requirements in Arts and Humanities, K-3 and writing.
Congratulations to the Kenton Elementary Academic team for being the overall winner at the Governor’s Cup Competition this past weekend. Way to go!
Students: Interested in joining the Academies for the 2015-2016 school year? Do you want to know more about the Academies in a fun hands-on experience and talk to current Academy scholars? Do you want to meet the teachers for each Academy? Now is your chance! You and your parents are invited to an Academy Open House on Tuesday, Feb. 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Edgewood Campus, 3234 Turkeyfoot Road.

The students and teachers, the administrators and the service workers of the Kenton County School District deserve praise for working hard in their roles. But equally deserving of praise are the members of the district’s Board of Education, not only for their work but for their leadership.
Congratulations to all the students who took part in the Kenton County School District Spelling Bee on Dec. 9.
Primary students and fifth grade students interested in participating in the science fair may pick up packets in the school office. The science fair is December 16.

Parents, the PTA is in need of volunteers for Christmas Fest. We need volunteers who are available between the hours of 5:00pm-8:30pm. We need help setting up/taking down, helping at the crafts table, serving food/snacks, and assisting Santa. On Friday, November 21, 2014, we will be having our annual Kenton Elementary Thanksgiving lunch. In order to accommodate everyone in a timely fashion, and to prepare enough food, we need to know how many people are coming for lunch on that day

The Fifth Grade classes of Kenton Elementary have chosen Tori Roser and her Service Dog in training, Albus as our Service Learning Project this year. Tori is a Graduate of the Kenton County Schools and also a graduate of the University of Cincinnati. Her goal is to create a non- profit organization responsible for giving service dogs to families in need free of charge. Albus is her first Service Dog and will go to National K-9 with her to learn how to train service dogs and other trainers.

There will be a meeting for parents of students who will be playing in the Kenton County Elementary Basketball League on Thursday, October 2nd 2014, at 6:00 pm. We will meet in the library. This meeting is mandatory for all parents who have 4th or 5th grade students who are going to be playing in the league for Kenton Elementary.
