Weekly TFMS Football Report
April 3 2013
Well spring conditioning is over. I had to cancel 2 days, so I might do something with the boys before we get out for Summer. I might take them to Dixie later in the month to watch the Varsity team doing their spring ball, as a sort of motivational thing. I'll let everyone know about that after Spring Break.
I enjoyed the conditioning this year. We had a good group show up each week. I know there were a lot of students who couldn't make it due to spring sports. No problem. Just everyone show up in July ready to go. The 8th grade numbers for next year are looking good-about 40 sighned up so far. My 7th grade numbers are still pretty low-less than 25. I hear there are more players in that grade who have not yet signed up for whatever reason. If you or your child know of any, please have them contact myself or coach Kremer. The thing is, the 7th grade team will have to play against schools that have 8th graders-maybe not a lot, but there are only 2 teams we will face that are all 7th graders like ourselves. If I don't get more signed up, I won't be able to run a 7th grade squad. I may have to pull some 8th graders down and make a mixed squad, IF the league allows me too. Otherwise, most of 7th grders will be playing in the Wed. night JV games. That 's not a bad thing neccessarily; there will be at least 7 JV games throughtout the year and at least they will be playing others closer to their age and ability level.
I will have one more meeting with the boys at school before Spring Break and let them know what I expect them to do to be ready for Summer Practice. Looking forward to it!
