SBDM September 2009

SBDM Meeting                 September 14, 2009
Present: Mr. Figgins, Mrs. Schmiade, Mrs. Barbour, Mrs. Davis, Mr. Barwell, Mrs. Jones
Meeting Called to Order: 4:07 p.m. by Mrs. Jones
New SBDM binders were passed out to everyone. Mr. Figgins suggested reviewing these polices before the next meeting. 
Mrs. Barbour moved to approve the June and August SBDM minutes. Mr. Barwell seconded.
Old Business:
Policy 24 states that hair or clothing may not cause distractions. The policies were discussed and Mrs. Jones will email the newest version to the members. She will check with the other schools on their policies for piercings and hair.
New Business:
Mrs. Jones reported that we have passed a $5.00 fee for Band and Chorus in addition to the Board fees to aid with music purchases and instrument repairs. This was approved.
Mrs. Jones presented the Open Records paperwork for all members to review and sign.
Personnel: 0
RTI – Response to Intervention begins on September 21st.   The Parent Portal for Infinite Campus will open this week for middle school and high school. Each student will receive a letter with instructions on how to access this.
Mrs. Jones is sending 6 teachers to the Kentucky Middle School Conference. 
There were questions about an Intramurals fee of $20.00 for new equipment or to replace equipment. Mrs. Jones will check with Central Office.
Mr. Sapp will be here tomorrow for Smartboard training. Mrs. Barbour requested more in depth training.
Professional Development: The current plan has 5 hours of portfolio training scoring. Three of those 5 hours could be used for Smartboard training. Mrs. Jones asked the SBDM members to survey the faculty for professional development needs. 
Mrs. Davis moved to adjourn at 4:50 p.m. Mr. Barwell seconded.
The next meeting is October 12th at p.m.
