TAYLOR MILL, KY (FOX19) - The National Honor Society at Scott High School sponsored a Walk-A-Thon during fifth period Thursday to benefit the Piner, KY tornado victims.
About three quarters of the students in the school took the event, one that the students conceived and executed by themselves. They raised about $3000. The first thousand was raised Wednesday form students who signed up as soon as they heard of the idea.
Students requested each volunteer donate a minimum of $5 to participate in the Walk-a-thon, which took place on the school’s track. School spirit was elevated as students took strides for almost an hour knowing that their efforts were going to benefit those in need.
