Turkey Foot 8th grader co-authors book on capitalism

A Turkey Foot Middle School 8th grader has co-authored a book about capitalism.

Lauren Hudson wrote the book Our Best Tomorrow: Students Teaching Capitalism to America along with her father, Robert Hudson.

Lauren wrote the fiction portions of the book during her 2013 summer break.

Lauren is a Duke Scholar and has received a wide range of awards for academic achievement. She has been recognized for her writing talent, having been selected from the Northern Kentucky region to compete in state writing contests. She also serves on the Turkey Foot Student Council and has led the Turkey Foot girls basketball team in scoring in each of the last two seasons.

Our Best Tomorrow explores how successful youth can be in America. Students who read Our Best Tomorrow will cast aside notions of false utopias to embrace the principles of hard work that made America great. Our Best Tomorrow sets the record straight, through the captivating stories of three childhood friends.

The book is a follow up to Robert Hudson's A Better Tommorrow, which became an Amazon #1 Hot New Release and Bestseller. It received the Silver Medal in the National E-Lit Awards and the New York Book Festival recognized it as one of the nation's best business books in 2013.

Our Best Tomorrow will be released later this month by Headline books. It is available for preorder on Amazon.com. The book has already become a #1 Hot Release for Free Enterprise Books on Amazon.

Lauren will be on Fox Business News with Stuart Varney in the 10 a.m. hour on Nov. 27.
