Taylor Mill Library Media Center Philosophy
The Taylor Mill Library Media Center realizes that students face numerous challenges as they prepare for a future beyond their years spent in Kenton County Schools. In order to meet these challenges, our school faculty work together to equip students with the necessary informational and technological skills required in the 21st Century. The Taylor Mill Library Media Center will provide opportunities for students to form an appreciation for literature, develop research and critical thinking skills, and use a variety of instructional technology. Our goal is to lay the foundation necessary for our students to become life-long learners.
Students may check out most books for one week. A book can be renewed as needed as long as there is not a waiting list for that title. We do not charge fines for overdue books. Students not returning books on time will not be allowed to check out new books until they return the late ones. Please view the Circulation Policy link under the Important Information tab for an in depth look at our circulation policy.
Gifts and Donations
Our library is always happy to receive gifts and donations. If you are donating books, please ask the librarian if the material is appropriate for an elementary library. Books and materials must be clean and in good shape. Books should not contain outdated information. Software should also be of interest to an elementary student and enhance our curriculum. If you are donating materials in memory or honor of someone, please tell the librarian. These books will be marked in a special way.
