Principal's Points

School safety.  With the recent incidents facing schools we are hearing more and more about school safety.  It is something I find myself thinking about more often not only for TFMS but for all schools in Kentucky and the nation.  I can assure you that the safety of our students and staff is my primary concern.  We have cameras, our doors are locked and require visitors to be buzzed in, we have a School Resource Officer in the front office, the faculty and staff go through safety training and we conduct regular safety drills.  However, schools can have the best safety plan and the best technology available but the support of our students and families are key to making our school truly safe.  We must continue to work to build a strong relationship between TFMS and our community.  It is imperative that students, parents and all community members feel comfortable sharing concerns about students, teachers and school safety.

Please continue the conversations we have started with our students at TFMS:

  • If they hear or see anything that seems odd or could be a possible threat to the school or our students they need to report it immediately to a parent, teacher, counselor, administrator or other adult they trust.
  • We want everyone safe in our school.
  • We take ALL matters involving the safety of our students and staff seriously.
  • Threats real or perceived are not a joke and may have serious repercussions for anyone involved whether verbal, in print or on any social media site.
  • We want everyone to be a responsible digital learner and this includes understanding the responsibility they have when they are on the Internet and using social media.
  • Stress that we are part of a family at TFMS and we need to take care of our family.
Archery Team Takes Aim at State

Our TFMS archery team competed in its last regular-season tournament on Feburary 24 at St. Henry District High School. Our top twelve scorers shot 3233 points and placed 2nd out of 11 teams. What a way to end the regular season!

Our Top Twelve were Mike Creamer, Billy Wogenstahl, Aubrey Hopkins, Emma Steinbrunner, Kiersten Boyd, Sophie Frisk, Duncan Cornelius, Marty Snow, Phoebe Roberts, Clair Meyers, Mary Frisk, and Trace Fry.

For our boys, Mike Creamer placed 3rd out of 161 middle school boys. Billy was 4th and Duncan 16th. For our girls, Aubrey Hopkins placed 11th out of 109 middle school girls. Sophie placed 12th, Emma 16th, Kiersten 16th, and Phoebe 19th.

We had not ONE, not TWO, but THREE archers with 50's at 10-meter: Mike Creamer, Sophie Frisk, and Clair Meyers. Way to go!

Twenty-four of our archers will compete at the Kentucky NASP State Tournament on March 30.
