Helping Paws is a service learning service project presented by Alisha Hawkins and Emily Daniels. We know that there are people in school, who are stressed, depressed, or just need a little happiness in their life with the dogs. We have partnered with Lucky Tales Rescue Center to bring some of their adoptable dogs. You can sign up in the Media Center to stay after school to sit, talk, read, play, and walk with the dogs.
Lucky Tales Rescue is a community focused non-profit organization. Our goal is to save and protect unwanted animals by educating the community, adopting to responsible homes, and providing lifelong support for our adopters. With love and determination we ensure proper placement by matching animals with appropriate forever homes and helping the animals start their own lucky tale. Our rescue is made up of a group of dedicated volunteers who focus on a better quality of life for the animals whose lives we touch. Our volunteer group is our rescue family; we operate and conduct ourselves just like a true family would. Our hope is that through education and support we can prevent animals from being abandoned and left alone in shelters.
We are going to hold a donatation drive to help Lucky Tales out. They are in need of dog food, treats, puppy pads, collars, toys, etc. We have created 2 donation boxes that will go on each side of our school. People can bring in the items listed above. The boxes will be checked daily, and will be sent to the rescue to help out the parents of these adorable dogs!
We have set up a calendar for people and the potiental puppy partners who decide to stay after school to participate in the event that day. Below are the days for the 'Doggy Dates'.
