KCSD Superintendent's Student Advisory Council mentoring 8th graders in Transition Readiness

For the 2022-2023 school year, 28 high school students from KCSD have been participants in the Superintendent Student Advisory Council.

This year the high school students chose to work on a project supporting the eighth graders with Transition Readiness.  Our district goal is to have 100% of students Transition Ready.

Beginning in January and for the next three months, high school students will be mentoring eighth graders, specifically supporting students with Transition Readiness.  They are not only helping students to ensure they are Transition Ready by the end of 8th grade, but also supporting students with understanding what it means to be Transition Ready in High School by covering topics related to college and career readiness.

There are approximately 300 eighth graders across the district participating in the program.
