Enrollment Procedures for Preschool

Kenton County School District partners with families to support children in learning beginning at age 3. If you are having concerns about your child prior to age 3, please contact your pediatrician or First Steps. Every child in Kentucky from ages 0-3 with developmental delays is eligible for early intervention services through First Steps.

If it is suspected your child may continue to need intervention at age 3, First Steps partners with the Kenton County Preschool Program for eligibility determination and potential transition to public preschool.

Please begin to locate and gather the following documents to present to the school should your child be determined eligible for KCSD preschool.

___ Immunization Certificate (must be current)

___ School Physical Form, completed by physician

___ Birth Certificate

___ Guardian Photo ID

___ Proof of Residency - street address which may include utility bills to the legal guardian, rental/lease/purchase contracts, etc.  If you are unable to provide a proof of residency, click here.

___ Copy of Social Security Card (not mandatory – used for college education                            scholarships)

___ Copy of Medicaid Card/Medicaid Release of Information

If your child is, or will be 4 years old by August 1, please reference this income chart for income guidelines. Amounts are prior to taxes and deductions.  Child must be 4 years old on or before August 1 of the current school year.
