Future Educator's Academy
Melissa Insko is the Teaching Professions Instructor for the Future Educators Academy. In her four years with the academies, she has completed her Ed.S. degree in Educational Leadership, and helped to start three different academy programs. Currently, she teaches “Education Basics,” “Students Today,” “Art of Teaching,” and an “Education Capstone” course for seniors which includes a clinical experience component. Mrs. Insko also teaches two dual-credit courses through Northern Kentucky University—“EDU 104: Orientation to the Education Program” and “EDU 305: Introduction to Education”—and oversees three other online classes. Among her favorite topics to teach are “History of Education in the US” and the various “Educational Philosophers” who have shaped schools to the present day.
Mrs. Insko and her husband, Matt, have been married for 17 years and reside in Ohio. They also have a 15-year—old daughter, Allison, who is a sophomore in high school. During her spare time, Mrs. Insko is an avid reader and crafter, an active members in her Church, and a semi-professional ski jumper. Her longest jump of 177 meters set a hometown record in the town where she grew up. Her favorite TV shows are Ken Burns’ documentaries, and reality shows such as “Swamp People” and “Deadliest Catch.”
