1. Consult with teachers and/or parents for the best interests of the students
2. Guide students through the development of personal, educational, and career plans
3. Counsel students individually or in groups 
4. Administer various assessments and interpret results to students to focus on their strengths and improve their weaknesses 
5. Process progress reports and report cards and confidentially maintain student records
6. Provide college, scholarship and financial aid information  
7. Refer students to community agencies or therapists as needed
8. Enroll new and transfer students
