Family Reunification Process in an Emergency Situation

School safety is a priority in the Kenton County School District.  In the event, (insert school name) has to be evacuated to another location due to an emergency situation, parents/guardians will reunify with their children at Lakeside Christian Church.  Lakeside Christian Church is located at 195 Buttermilk Park, Lakeside Park, KY.  In the event of an emergency that requires the use of an offsite reunification:

  • You will receive communication telling you not to come to school but to pick your child up at Lakeside Christian Church.
    • It is important that you report to Lakeside and not the school.  Reporting to school will interfere with emergency response and your child will not be released to you at the school.
  •  When you arrive at the church, you will be directed to park and enter through the main entrance of the church.  Parents/guardians will only be allowed to enter through the main entrance of the church.
  • You must have a picture ID and be listed in Infinite Campus as a parent/guardian or emergency contact in order to pick up your child.

Once you arrive at the church:

  • You will be greeted and handed a form to complete which asks for your child’s name, your name, and your relationship to the student.
  • You will give this form and your picture ID to a staff member at the check in table. The staff member will verify that you have permission to pick up the child through Infinite Campus.
  • You will be given a wristband that shows staff you have been checked in and are approved to pick up a child.
  • You will be escorted to a waiting area where updates about the event and mental health supports will be available as needed.
  • Your name will be called and you will be taken to the reunification point to get your child and exit the facility.
  • If your child is 18 and arrives at the Reunification site by bus, he/she will not be allowed to sign himself/herself out.  A parent/guardian or emergency contact will need to pick him/her up at Lakeside following our reunification process.

Anyone listed as an emergency contact in Infinite Campus will also have permission to pick up your child.  It is imperative that you take the time to make sure your emergency contacts are up to date in Infinite Campus.  Please make sure your phone numbers and emails are current in Infinite Campus so you will receive Bright Arrow phone calls and other important information from the school.  You may verify current contact and demographic information through the Infinite Campus parent portal. To update this information or to verify your emergency contact(s), please reach out to your school to make changes.
