2020 Wrestling Information
Wrestling will be conducted following CDC and KHSAA guidelines. Anyone who does not follow the guidelines will not be able to participate.
Any TFMS child is able to participate sports no matter which learning model they choose (hybrid, synchronous, or virtual)
Walk-ups will NOT be allowed to participate. Last day to submit your paperwork to be approved for practice is on October 29th at noon. No exceptions.
Wrestling is a coed sport composed of 6, 7, & 8th graders
Practice Dates & Times:
First Practice is on Monday, November 9th from 3:30-5pm at TFMS
Practices will be on Monday, Wednesday & occasionally Friday
from 3:30-5pm at TFMS in the Mezzanine

Please be aware the TFMS wrestling team will be participating in a limited number of meets this season due to Covid-19.
What you can do to be ready for practice:

In order for your account to be approved, you must upload ALL six KHSAA documents and a copy of an insurance card.

If you do not carry your own insurance, supplemental insurance can be purchased through the county here: Click Here (all athletes must carry insurance to be allowed to participate)
** Deadline for submitting your familyID account to be permitted to attend tryouts is Thursday 10/29 at Noon. If you are registering after this deadline, your account will not be accepted or if your account is incomplete, your athlete won’t be allowed to participate this season. NO WALKS UP are allowed.
Items needed for practice:
Mat shoes, Water bottle, face mask, Mouth guard, Knee pads are optional but encouraged
(Water fountain is not available due to Covid-19)
Cost Per Season: $40 Athletic fee due by November 8th
(cash or check “TFMS Athletics”)
Additional $30 cost is required to purchase a USA wrestling card.

Wrestling Season at a Glance:

There is one coed team composed of: 6th, 7th and 8th graders. All athletes must be passing 5 out of their 6 classes by Oct. 29th to participate.
Length of the 2020-21 season: November to late Feb
Tournament schedule has not been finalized yet.
Practice is: Monday, Tuesday & some Fridays from 3:30-5pm in the TFMS Mezzanine.
Cost: is a $40 athletic fee (cask or check “TFMS Athletics”)
plus a USA wrestling membership purchased online.
Check in Procedure for Tryouts:
** Check in will not begin until 10 minutes before tryout time **
Students who attended in person school on practice days
Students who learned from home on
Day 1: Only bring the filled out and signed Covid Screener & Liability form to turn in.
Athlete’s will not be allowed to participate without these forms completed.
Do not turn in until your first tryout day.

Report to the gym at dismissal
Can Bring to school tryout clothes to change into and a NUT FREE snack to eat prior to practice.
Arrive in bus loop no earlier than 10 minutes prior to the start of practice (3:20pm)
Stay in car until checked in by AD or coach.
Arrive dressed and ready to practice.
Bring a SMALL bag to place practice items in.
Covid Screener and Liability form will be collected and students will have temperature checked again before entering the gym.
**If they do not have the forms or have a fever over 100.4, they will get on the bus or call home to be picked up**
Covid Screener and Liability form will be collected and Temperature will be checked prior to exiting car.
** If temp is above 100.4, they will be asked to leave**
Students will enter the gym and will be given directions to change and eat a snack until practice begins.
Passed entry screening, students will exit the car wearing a mask and enter the school.
* Masks will be worn and social distancing will occur when athletes are not actively in drills. Mats will be frequently sanitized during practice, and always after practice.
